Red Facetted Fancy Brooch- Item # 0090 - SOLD
This is an interesting item. It has eight multifaceted red jewels that really refract the light. When moved, all eight jewels shine their respective facets in unison. Truly amazing for such a simple piece. It is costume jewelry from the past, possibly before the Depression era. The eight metal flowers that make up the piece are coated with gold metal and then soldered together. They are made of a light non-magnetic metal. Each has a red jewel (probably glass) mounted in a setting. The plated steel clasp is soldered to the back of the piece. It is very sturdy and has an ornate pattern stamped in it. This is the only portion of the item that shows some rust (as seen in the photos).
This piece measures approximately 2 1/4 inches long and 1 3/4 inches wide. It weighs approximately 20 grams.
