Antique Magic Chef Gas Range - Item # 0049
This is an excellent piece. Made by the American Stove Company, the Magic Chef Gas Range has always been an American standard. This well built gas range, as far as I can tell, is complete. It has been in a garage for years and years. The enamel is excellent. I could not find one single chip in the entire piece. This piece will, someday, give years of reliable service and it will be a pleasure to use. It's 20 inch depth and 38 inch width make it perfect for an apartment or cabin. It'll look fantastic.
The overall dimensions are: 43 inches high, 25 inches deep, and 38 inches wide. The four burners are 33 inches above the floor. The thermostat for the oven (Oven Heat Regulator) is made by Lorain. There is an oven a broiler, and a warming compartment. All the pieces are there. This has all the original hardware on it. The doors all have drop style pulls. and the range controls are complete and in very good condition. The upper oven door does not spring shut like the lower door. The Green and Cream enamel is in excellent shape. The photos show some closeups of places that are dirty, but these parts do not have any chips in the enamel..There is some rust on the piece. There's rust on the back and slightly all over the entire piece. The insides of the ovens are still relatively free of rust. This can be easily cleaned, as can the enamel, to bring back the shine and shimmer of this rustic gas range. Nothing has been done to clean or pretty up this item. The two griddles for the range portion for this item have been broken. See Note

This is truly one of the finest pieces I've seen in a while. It will need cleaning to bring it back into service, but it is complete, Quality made, MADE IN THE U.S.A. It will continue to serve any chef or cook, for many many more years.
This is a very great and unusual item, and in very good condition. This would be an excellent way to serve up anything you desire.

These closeups of the legs show no chipping to the enamel. The enamel on the entire piece is in as good of condition. The grease and dirt, once cleaned, will reveal the true quality and beauty of the enamel.
