Custom Hand Built Volkswagen Baja Bug - Item # 0048 - TAKING NEW ORDERS

This is an exceptional find. Just completed ! ! ! - WET PAINT ! ! ! Professionally completed restoration and customization. This vehicle was carefully rebuilt by a 30 year automotive veteran - both Volkswagen service work and VW Off-Road racing. This custom Fun-Mobile is built around a 1968 VW Bug body. The body is in excellent shape and the floors are completely sound. There is no rust because what little there was (this was originally a Southern car) has been repaired with metal. The custom buggy fenders are fiberglass - less weight, more flexibility. All of the electrical systems work perfectly. Although built with the off-road enthusiast in mind, this buggie is street legal. It exceeds Wisconsin's safety standards and is ready for licensing in any state - anywhere. Most of the interior is original and in very good condition. Notice the Sun Bug floor mats in the photos. The back seat area has been customized using expertly shaped plywood panels covered with durable black carpeting. This makes this area much more usable. The rear area floor is hinged for access to the storage area that is normally under the original back seat. There is space enough here for tools, stereo components, or whatever. There is a strong roll cage as well. The dash has been customized with a 1/4 inch piece of aircraft aluminum to hold the instruments and switches. The steering wheel is another added touch. This is really a sharp looking addition - you can tell right off that this is not an everyday Volkswagen.
Mechanically, this machine has had all the maintenance done. New brakes front and rear. Everything has been gone over and checked to make sure All Systems Are Operational. The engine is a 1600cc Dual Port type and has recently been completely rebuilt. It has also been custom painted. The engine looks very cool and sounds really great. Power is delivered to the wheels by a standard VW 5 speed gearbox and transaxle. There are crash bars in the front and rear to protect those parts of the body and engine. There is also sturdy crash bars on both sides to protect the doors when sliding sideways. Nice to have because I wouldn't want to scratch the beautiful black enamel finish. It has been wet-sanded and buffed and looks like a show car's finish. The body trim and wheels have been expertly custom painted to make this beauty very exceptional indeed. I'm not suprised - I know the builder - he is a top-notch craftman who settles for no less than the best in everything.

This truly is one of the funnest vehicle you will ever have an opportunity to experience. This design has consistently won many major off-road and endurance events. My last Baja Bug would consistently be the one to pull the Broncos and Jeeps out of the mud. And this one is entirely steet legal. Get in and go.

This is a very great and unusual item, and in excellent and complete working condition. This would be an excellent way to have fun. The custom paint on the engine is great and the finish on the body is perfect.
