SAMSON 10 inch Rubber Blade 2 Speed Fan - Item # 0043
This is a cool fan. It has no ugly fan guard because the fan blades are made of rubber. It has a big metal fan blade hub that covers the entire motor and spins with the blades. There is some dents in the shiny silver hub, and the rubber fan blades are in very bad shape.They are bent, ripped, and the edges are beginning to crack. The motor starts slow but runs smoothe and quiet in both Low and High speeds. There is some vibration because of the condition of the rubber fan blades. The base is made of cast material and has some very noticable chipping of the brown finish. The base has a swivel to adjust the fan's angle. The three position toggle power switch is also in the base. It works fine but has very little snap in it's action. There is some substance are the power switch and power cord opening similar to what leaks out of old transformers. I suspect this is coming from inside the base. I have not removed the base plate to see if this is the case. The power cord may be the original vinyl zip-cord and two prong plug. It is in very bad shape and should not be used. No attempt has been made to clean or pretty up this item. This fan needs work before it can be used or it can be dismantled for parts. It is complete. This little indoor fan looks cool. The fan blades will need replacement before the fan can be used. They are not balanced and the fan wobbles when running. It is a neat design and can be made to provide many more years of service. It is also a fantastic conversation piece. This little fan is great for anyone wanting some fresh air at their desk.
