Rare Street Light Fixture - WORKS - Item # 0021 - SOLD
This is an exceptional find. All original and in excellent shape, this rugged outdoor lamp will really light your way and be a great conversation piece. Made of cast aluminum (housing), stamped aluminum (shade and polished reflector), and glass (globe); it is an extremely heavy duty fixture - COMPLETE and IT WORKS. Wired with the original 1 1/2 inch screw-in bulb socket there is an original bulb included. The external wiring connects to terminals at the end of brown glazed porceline insulators (one on each side of the housing). These obvious looking insulators make this item look like something straight out of a Frankenstein movie. These are mounted in cast aluminum holders bolted to the housing. All the terminal hardware is included and in working condition. The cork at the base of both insulators is worn thin but the other insulation and gaskets are complete intact. . The wiring inside the unit is in tact and the bulb socket.is like shiny new as well. The entire inside is very clean - as if it has has very little use. The globe and reflector attaches with two snap down bails. The globe is further attached to the housing via a safety chain. All the metal is in great shape. Some slight oxidation on the latches and chain which could be easily cleaned. These are the few pieces which are not made out of aluminum. No attempt has been made to pretty up this item. Outside it has some dust on it. There are a couple dents in the cast housing but otherwise, no significant scrathes, oxidation, or weathering on the housing - it's aluminum and. The housing measures aproximately 7 inches in diameter and 8 inches high. There is an additional 2 inches in the height including the cast mounting ring machine screwed into the very top. Stamped on the outside of the cast housing is the following:

It has the original bulb as well - measuring approximately 9 inches long and 5 inches in diameter at the filament end and 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the socket end.. One of the photos shows this bulb alongside a normal bulb. It is a screw-in type and the brass colored socket is still shiny. The bulb inside the lamp works. It has a big rugged filament. It is rated for 6000 Lumens of light output (That's Alot). The electrical rating is 405 Watts at 120 Volts. All the porceline pieces and the metal socket is in perfect condition. The bulb has the following etched on the glass.

The reflector piece (inside the globe) is in excellent condition
although the outside has one noticable dent
and other less noticable small dents and
scratches. The glass globe is in excellent
shape with no chips, cracks, or discoloration.
The globe is about 14 inches in diameter
and about 15 inches high. The glass globe
has the following writing molded in it:

This is truly a very unusual piece, quite a rarity, and in complete working condition. The complete measurements are aproximatel 14 inches around at the globe and 25 inches tall. This would be an excellent way to add some rustic appeal to your back yard or your den (if you have the room). The two insulators popping out of the sides really shows this piece off as an ancient relic of the past.
