Bubble Lamp - Item # 0003 - SOLD
The Bubble Lamps designed by George Nelson
in the 1950s for the Howard Miller Clock
Company have become increasingly rare and
sought-after. This lamp is a sphere measuring
approximately 19" inches diameter, approximately
60 inches in circumference, and approximately
16 inches high. The skin surface is in very
good condition with some signs of aging and
slightly dusty. From the photos you can see
just how spotless and clean this lamp is.
There is one small tear approx. 1/8 inch
long (made recently) and only two small dents
in the skin material as illustrated below.
There is no rusting at all. This lamp has
the original long 9 foot white cord with
the original white two prong plug. There
is a loop and knot in the cord - possibly
the way it was hanged. There is no wear or
stress marks any place along the cord. This
is one of the best lamps I've seen.
The original manufacturere's tag is afixed
and reads:
